New principal
Miles Steininger, pronounced STEIN-in-Ger, comes to PMP most recently from an in-house role at Visier, a Vancouver-based analytics and AI company. He broadens and deepens the technical background of PMP, especially in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, robotics, software, and wearable devices.
Miles has helped his clients stay independent and return over two billion dollars to investors. He has practiced intellectual property law for over 20 years, as a patent agent and IP manager, in startup, medium-sized, and multi-national public companies, as well as in private practice.
Miles is a patent agent licensed by Canada’s College of Patent Agents and Trademark Agents (CPATA) with the ability to represent clients at the Canadian Intellectual Patent Office, and the US Patent and Trademark Office. Miles Steininger holds a B.Sc. from UBC in computer science and physics. He is named on over 25 patents.
In addition to contributions to IP strategy, patent drafting, prosecution, and litigation, Miles has advised on issues like taxation, valuation, and transfer pricing. He has designed databases and metrics for tracking IP assets. Outside of IP, he led two programs focused on education for internal technical audiences and external non-technical audiences.
